Using the latest digital signal processing and high sample rates would be wasted if careful attention is not paid to capturing the signal as faithfully as possible and reproducing it accurately. The range uses high performance 24-bit converters on the inputs and outputs, operating at 96kHz to give a bandwidth greater than 30kHz and a dynamic range greater than 116dB. * With two or four fully balanced inputs and up to eight fully balanced outputs, it also offers significantly increased flexibility. It is now possible to realize (for example) four two-way monitor systems, or your preferred DP226 setup with an additional stereo processing channel, all in a single 1U unit. * With multiple inputs and outputs, the 4 series can offer much more than a simple crossover system. To make setup as simple as possible, a selection of templates are available to configure the system, supporting routing and the selection of useful cross points * However all of this is easily adjustable, including routing. Any output can be fed from any input, or combination of inputs, forming a completely flexible matrix. * The Series 4 processing platform has been designed to operate at a native sample rate of 96kHz, and also be powerful enough to cope with additional inputs and outputs. A 28-band graphic EQ is available on each input channel, in addition to 8 fully parametric EQ bands. Each output path has up to 9 parameterized sections, in addition to crossover filters which now offer slopes from 6db / Octave to 48db / Octave. * All of the parameterized sections can be reconfigured into many alternating filters, including high and low shelves and the well-known notch filters, but with variable band-pass, elliptical and “q” shapes and phase adjustment, in steps of 2 degrees. Each output also has a combination of limiters - a limiter which is designed to protect individual riders from over-climbing / excessive driving, and an additional "d-max" limiter for added safety. * Add to this submillimeter precision when introducing time alignment with completely flexible setting of all channels, and it can be seen that a Series 4 member will fit the bill in any system configuration.
