Product Description MARTIN AUDIO LE1500

The philosophy that prevails at the Martin Audio Research and Development office:

Perfect Acoustic Design.

Purpose: Directivity control. The whole audience perceives the same message.

Strategy: Modern waveguides remain the only way to control directivity.

Refrain from diverting the components from what they were designed for (no large format treble motors!!).

Essential point: Good acoustic design avoids excessive use of equalization and dynamics processing which, if used excessively, generates distortion and reduces the dynamic reserve.

The new LE series of monitors is a perfect example of Martin Audio's design expertise.

Specifications :

- Smallest possible visual clutter

- Very high SPL

-Reasonable weight considering the sound pressure

- Differential directivity control: a horn with a unique principle on a stage monitor.

"Rounded" aesthetics.

Principle of differential directivity.

The differential directivity horn is a constant directivity horn whose particularity is to be more or less directional according to the axis in which one is located in relation to it. The closer you get to the return, the wider the directivity (up to 10 0? above the wedge). The more you move away towards the back of the stage, the more the directivity tightens. Thus, the coverage in the horizontal plane obtained is much more homogeneous than with a standard horn or coaxial. As a bonus, this tightening of the sound beam with the distance will make it possible to pollute less its little comrades on stage.

Long-excursion bass speaker technology, electromagnetic flux demodulation ring.

The woofer of a 2-way monitor such as LE1200 and LE1500 plays a key role since it must also produce the midrange with a minimum of distortion while ensuring a very high bass level. The choice of very long excursion loudspeaker (higher efficiency) could not have been retained without the addition of a new motor technology. Indeed, a traditional very long excursion loudspeaker produces too high a level of distortion due to the excessive variation of inductance of the coil during its course along the central magnet. The addition of the electromagnetic flux demodulation ring to the core of the engine has made it possible to eliminate this intermodulation distortion. By the way, a high energy neodymium magnet is used to reduce the weight of the motor. With an optimized motor, the moving parts must also perform linear movement. The membrane is therefore surrounded by a triple-ply motion absorber as well as a doubled suspension.
