500HP SUB AMPLIFIED MEYER SOUND

The Meyer Sound 500-HP powered subwoofer is a powered high-output subwoofer suitable for both setups: suspended or floor standing.

Available in two versions: one with side panel handles, the other with a rigging kit. The 500-HP can accommodate a 38mm stand to accommodate an Ultra Series speaker.

The Meyer Sound 500-HP subwoofer has an operating frequency range of 35 Hz to 140 Hz and a SPL of 135 dB at 1 meter.

Designed and manufactured at Meyer Sound's headquarters in Berkeley, CA, the two 12-inch cone speakers are engineered to deliver peak performance from the 500-HP subwoofer. The vented, vented drivers, each with 4-inch voice coils, are rated to handle 1200W (AES)* and housed in a tuned rectangular enclosure that is the same width as the M'elodie driver.

The low-frequency speakers are driven by a two-channel AB/H amplifier with complementary MOSFET output stages with 1800W of total output power (900W per channel). The 500-HP's amplifier and processing electronics are equipped with the Meyer Sound intelligent power supply, which adapts to any mains voltage worldwide and provides protection against surges and transients. The amplifier, control electronics and power supply are field replaceable modules located at the rear of the enclosure.

The 500-HP includes protective plastic pads on the bottom of the enclosure that line up securely with its top slots for stacking. The optional MRF-500 rigging frame features captive, recessed leader guides that allow the subwoofer to be driven from the MG-M'elodie rigging grid, as well as suspend an array of M'elodies or 500 HP additional.

The GuideALinks, located in the front, center and rear of the frame, are easily adjusted to one of three positions with convenient grips and slots. A wide range of angles and configurations, including cardioid cabinets, are possible with the various combinations of positions for the front, center and rear guides; The angle for hanging M'elodie paintings can be increased by 5 degrees (for balcony coverage) or lowered by up to 15 degrees.

Constructed of premium birch plywood, the 500-HP's cabinetry is coated in a hard black textured finish. A hex-stamped steel grille with acoustic black mesh protects the subwoofer speakers.

Dimensions for the 500-HP make it transportable with European and American trucks, and the unit can move safely through stacks with the optional MCF-500 caster frame.

The RMS remote management and control system – standard with the 500-HP mount version and optional with the side panel configuration – allows complete monitoring of system parameters on a Windows computer.
