SUB SB 28 L-ACOUSTICS

The L-ACOUSTICS ® SB28 loudspeaker is a recommended subwoofer for the KUDO®, V-DOSC®, dV-DOSC and ARCS® systems. It allows to extend the bandwidth of the system up to 25 Hz. The loudspeaker comprises the assembly of two 18 ”loudspeakers in direct radiation in a loudspeaker tuned in bass-reflex. These loudspeakers demonstrate exceptional excursion capability combined with low thermal compression even at the highest sound levels.

Bass-reflex vents feature an exclusive contoured profile allowing laminar air flow. The combination of these new loudspeakers and vents results in a SPL gain of around 5 dB compared to current standards.

The SB28 loudspeaker is controlled and amplified by the dedicated L-ACOUSTICS ® LA8 controller. The digital filtering performs system equalization, bandwidth framing, while the L-DRIVE servo process provides thermal protection and manages the excursion limits of the loudspeaker mobile crews. Two operating modes are possible:

• The '' standard '' mode for use in addition to a main V-DOSC®, dV-DOSC, KUDO®, or ARCS® system, with low-pass filter at 60 Hz (preset [SB28_60]) or else dV -DOSC or ARCS® with low pass filter

at 10 0 Hz (preset [SB28_ 10 0])

• The '' cardioid '' mode for use in addition to a main V-DOSC®, dV-DOSC, KUDO®, or ARCS® system with low-pass filter at 60 Hz (preset [SB28_60_C]) or else dV -DOSC or ARCS® with low pass filter at 10 0 Hz (preset [SB28_ 10 0_C])

The performance of an SB28 speaker depends on the preset used and the configuration chosen.

The cabinetry is made of premium Baltic birch plywood. It incorporates rails (compatible with the old SB218 model) for hanging in a vertical line.
