Product description MARTIN AUDIO LE1500

The philosophy that prevails at the Martin Audio Research and Development office:

Perfect Acoustic Design.

Objective: Directivity control. The whole audience gets the same message.

Strategy: Modern waveguides remain the only way to control directivity.

Refrain from diverting components from what they were designed for (no large format treble motors !!).

Essential point: The good acoustic design makes it possible to avoid an abusive use of the equalization and dynamics processing which, when used excessively, generate distortion and reduce the dynamic reserve.

The new LE monitor series is a perfect example of Martin Audio's design know-how.

Specifications :

-Lowest possible visual footprint

- very high SPL

-Reasonable weight compared to the sound pressure

-Differential directivity control: a pavilion with a unique principle on a stage monitor.

Aesthetic "rounded".

Principle of differential directivity.

The differential directivity horn is a constant directivity horn whose particularity is to be more or less directional according to the axis in which one is located in relation to it. The closer we get to the return, the wider the directivity (up to 10 0? Directly above the wedge). The farther behind the stage you go, the tighter the directionality. Thus, the coverage in the horizontal plane obtained is much more homogeneous than with a standard horn or a coaxial. As a bonus, this narrowing of the sound beam with the distance will make it possible to pollute its little comrades less on stage.

HP long excursion technology, electro-magnetic flux demodulation ring.

The bass driver of a 2-way return such as LE1200 and LE1500 plays a key role as it must also produce the midrange range with minimal distortion while ensuring a very high bass level. The choice of loudspeaker with very long excursion (higher efficiency) could not have been retained without the addition of new motor technology. In fact, a traditional very long excursion loudspeaker produces an excessively high level of distortion due to the excessive variation in the inductance of the coil during its travel along the central magnet. The addition of the electromagnetic flux demodulation ring to the heart of the motor has made it possible to eliminate this intermodulation distortion. By the way, a high energy neodymium magnet is used to reduce the weight of the motor. With an optimized motor, the moving parts must also perform linear displacement. The membrane is therefore surrounded by a triple fold motion absorber as well as a lined suspension.
